Flagging Blogs and why...
I'm quite sure that most of the time it's damn obvious why I'm (we're) flagging certain blogs but then again it might not be.
Just a thought. :)

Have you flagged me lately?
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-15 @ 18:55
Only in my google searches. I get an email any time any one around the world uploads "naked kevin" pictures.
QueeneMab [Member] 2009-02-15 @ 19:11
Eh?
Has someone flagged you darling?

I have no idea LOL.
I'd just like to be able to say why I'm flagging someone x
QueeneMab [Member] 2009-02-15 @ 19:20
Good and fair point.

Yes landers, I can just see all your explanations on all your flags "You are a CUNT!"
QueeneMab [Member] 2009-02-15 @ 19:27
It is important to be truthful though.

Absolutely... and personal opinion shouldn't really come into it either. Just because I don't like someone is know reason to flag them.
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-15 @ 21:20
"is NO reason"
FFS! I'm doing that all the bloody time!
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-15 @ 19:36
Hahahahaaa!
kendersrule pro 2009-02-15 @ 20:57
ooo I agree, though infringement tends to cover most things...
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-15 @ 20:58
But infringement isn't the only reason to flag a blog.
kendersrule pro 2009-02-15 @ 20:59
...I so want to ask, but am having strange attacks of Tact today, can't think what's come over me!
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-15 @ 21:03
Ask away...
kendersrule pro 2009-02-15 @ 21:05
what interesting reasons have you had lately?
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-15 @ 21:11
None lately but a while back (before your time) there was one that I personally thought was racist, possibly to the point of incitement, possibly not. That might or might not be infringement, I don't know and don't care, but flagged it anyway. They were gone within a few hours and I imagine more than one person flagged them so BCUK got on to it. I'd like to have explained my flag by saying "I only find 'this' section racist - maybe a PM to ask them change it?" rather than just a flag.
kendersrule pro 2009-02-15 @ 21:13
hmmm but if they're inherantly racist then why would you want them to continue blogging around here?
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-15 @ 21:17
Only one section of their blog was racist. As everyone is capable of racist comments without actually being racists I think it would be more prudent to look at that one section rather than attack the entire blog/blogger.

we have no time "checking" why someone flagged something ... for us only the amount of flaggings is relevant
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-16 @ 10:42
Thank you for your answer. I shall keep on flagging when I see fit.
Rampage team 2009-02-16 @ 10:40
I check the flags every day, and the majority of them are clearly obvious and get deleted immediately.
When it is less clear, I leave it sitting and observe it for a few days to see if any flags are added or if the user is spam commenting or doing anything else unpleasant.
If you do wish to elaborate, feel free to send a mail to support@blog.co.uk explaining your problem.

Thank you for your answer.
Just out of interest...
Although I would never do it (and I'm actually being honest - I'm quite sure you could tell if I did anyway) if I flagged a blog purely because I didn't like the person would you then watch the blog, as you say above, just be safe and then remove the flag or does the flag stay for good?
Rampage team 2009-02-16 @ 10:46
I'd keep an eye on it for a while and then delete the flag if I saw nothing untoward.
If I knew the blogger and knew there was nothing wrong with them, I'd delete the flag immediately. ![]()
If it was me that you flagged, I'd delete you immediately.
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-16 @ 10:53
Haha!
I'm quite glad flags get deleted... I imagine I'd have quite a few otherwise.
Rampage team 2009-02-16 @ 10:56
You haven't in a while actually. I think a lot of flags get there by accident though - so many people flag their own stuff so it's not unreasonable to assume.
Maybe you're not as much of a cunt as you think!
LandersUK [Member] http://www.iamlanders.com 2009-02-16 @ 10:57
DAMN IT!
Must change that!
I hate flagging. Too many people flag for no reason because they dislike the fucking person. I haven't done that, I clicked two flags though by accident.
I know, I may be at risk of getting numerous fucking flags because of my, and my co-authors blog which is very raw and uncensored. Which I believe no one has the right to try and censor it, or control it, or stop it. Since we are SUPPOSED to have freedom of speech.
So, any team people, check my flags please. But, I think that we should have to add a small note why we are flagging the person. Numbers don't matter. Makes your jobs harder but, oh well.
It's your job.

I only flag if I think they deserve it. I wouldn't flag just because I didn't like someone.
