Posts from friends

This isn't a huge thing, but it's a little annoyance that I have, and I don't think it would take much to sort it out.

On the "My BCUK" page, it lists the ten most recent posts by your friends. Then there is a link to "more New posts from my friends".

You click the link, and it takes you to the same ten posts again, and you have to click "next" to see the actual next lot of posts - not what is advertised in the link from My BCUK!

Is it possible for that link to take you to page 2 of the new posts by default?

It annoys me too!

I asked BCUK specifically if they could make sure you were able to read me twice, knowing how important it was to you. But hey - some people are never grateful.

Thank you. This has been annoying me forever.

It's a good idea, but unfortunately it would be technically impossible to implement. Sorry.

Really? I thought it would just be a matter of changing the link on the "My BCUK" page from "http://www.blog.co.uk/srv/friends/friends_posts.php" to "http://www.blog.co.uk/srv/friends/friends_posts.php?page=2".

Doesn't seem that hard to me! But what do I know.

We've talked about it a lot, and the idea in itself is a good one.

Aside from the difficulty of implementing it though, in the interests of coherence it doesn't make sense to have certain links linking to the second page of detail and others linking to the first.

Fair enough!

I thought that was why the link said "more" - that we'd see a new set of pages. My mistake.

Instead, might I suggest you allow a profile option to say how many friends' post links we want on the "my" page? That is really the only section I use every day - the rest is only very occasionallly useful to me - but of course other people use the site differently, which is why I suggested an option might work.

The nmumber of displayed posts was increased not so long ago.

However it would not be possible to be able to alter the amount of displayed posts as it would interfere with the format of the MyBlog.co.uk page too much.

Thanks for the answer! I shall change my bookmark to posts page 1 and solve the problem.
