Dramatis Personae

I posted a Dramatis Personae list when I started blogging in December 2005 so that anyone reading my blog would know who I am talking about, but new readers would only find that if they knew where to look.

For those of us who write diary type blogs it would be helpful if there was a place on our home page on which we could list our frequently mentioned friends, family and colleagues so that we don't have to keep explaining who's who every time we mention a name.

Hmm. You could put the list on your profile, or as your blog description. Or, if your friends are also bloggers, you could make a bloglist linking to their blogs.

I'll mention this idea to our developers if there is some more support shown for it by other users.

Well it's a fact that most of us do have a list of regularly mentioned significent others, even if pseudonyms are used. Sometimes you can guess from the context who is meant, or at least get the gist, but sometimes you can't.
